On October 17th, 2008, Melissa was waiting at her bus stop in Panama City, Florida when she saw a stray kitten in the street. As she ran to save the kitten she was struck and killed. Melissa had her life ended much to soon. This website was created to honor her life and to save other young children from such a tragedy. The Melissa A. Tindell Memorial Fund has been established to place "Keep Kids Alive - Drive 25" at every bus stop. The goal is threefold: 1) To remind and educate our children on bus stop safety and make them aware of potential hazards. 2) To educate drivers on the potential hazards at bus stops. 3) To raise awareness and remind drivers of the location of bus stops by placing "Keep Kids Alive - Drive 25" signs at every bus stop.
